360-2 - Harry Streatfeild 164* Horsmonden elected to bowl on a wicket made lively after a morning shower. The openers survived a good spell from Andy May who was unlucky not to get a wicket. With his removal from the attack the Chidd batsman took apart the rest of the bowling. Mark Harvey making 33 & last weeks match winner Tim Golds 24. There then followed an un broken partnership of 240 between Harry Streatfeild who carried his bat for 164* & Fred Quirk 114* . Both were clinical in their destruction of some poor bowlingtaking 242 runs from the last 20 overs. The final total of 360 was the highest ever at Chiddingstone & Streatfeild's the highest individual score by a Chidd batsman in the league. Andy May was the one bowler who stood out only conceding 23 runs but only bowled 6 Overs. With a daunting task ahead Horsmonden captain Nick Paul decided attack was the only answer & hit a quick fire 38 before falling to David Grayland who he had dispatched to the tennis courts for 4 consecutive sixes. With his wicket the run chase was over & it was only a matter of how many wickets Chidd could managed. It was 9 with captain Tim Golds using 8 bowlers to entice the batsman out. Phil Barnett finishing with 3-38 from his 9 & Sean Robertson 2-14 were the pick of the bowlers. Rob Littler again was economical 1-22 off his 9 overs of occasionally lively medium pace. David Grayland 2-43 & Doug Gower 1-5 were the other wicket takers. With 4 wins in a row Chiddingstone are easing away from relegation & with a settled side are looking to finish the season strongly.
